In 1945, in response to new laws, the limited company, Tabacalera Sociedad Anonima, was formed. Tabacalera S.A. paved the way for the future structure and success of the company. Altadis Is Born: 2000 - Tabacalera S.A. and French tobacco company, Seita, merged to form a new company: Altadis. Altadis was set to be the biggest tobacco company in Europe.
